- Annotation: This article examines the role of negative space in the depiction of various objects in the composition of a drawing, painting, and in modern logo design and jewelry design. Understanding negative space involves depicting, observing, and analyzing visible forms formed between the contours of objects. When choosing a composition, one must learn to distinguish between one fused form, visually perceived from several forms, and the part of the depicted space that is not included in this form. Such perception helps to convey the balance between positive and negative space. The information and recommendations for organizing the composition covered in the article, taking into account the negative space, are useful when studying the educational material on the subject of “Painting” and “Modern Tools and Technologies for Designing Jew-elry and Art Products” for students majoring in 54.03.02 “Decorative and Applied Arts and Folk Crafts” and 54.03.03 “Art of Costume and Textiles”.
