Annotation: The existing approaches to the classification of special footwear as a means of individual foot protection are considered. It is shown that traditional classifications based on the enumeration of protective characteristics do not sufficiently reflect modern operating conditions and the multifactorial nature of occupational risks. The faceted model classifies specialized footwear according to the following criteria – sphere of application, hazard profile, functional protective properties, design features, and materials and manufacturing technologies. The developed system allows you to structure the description of products, ensure comparability of different models and can be used in the analysis of the assortment and design of special and tactical footwear.
