Annotation: The potential and prospects for using the Dmethod for detecting hidden periodicities in data streams describing the unevenness of one-dimensional fibre flows across spinning mill transitions are examined. Computer statistical simulation, using classical mathematical statistics criteria, was used to study and analyse the results. Areas of potential application for the Dmethod, where it may offer advantages over harmonic spectral analysis, are reliably identified.
