- Annotation: Non-traditional decorative galvanic metal coatings used in the manufacture of jewellery and costume jewellery are considered. The non-traditional ones include, firstly, decorative coatings, which have become widely used in the manufacture of jewellery and costume jewellery in recent decades, and secondly, traditional coatings, the technology of formation and decorative properties of which have recently under-gone significant modernisation. It is shown that non-traditional decorative galvanic metal coatings are dis-tinguished, as a rule, by high mechanical, anticorrosion and colour characteristics, allowing the designer to solve a wide range of design problems. Examples of decorations using a variety of coatings with a rich range of colours are given. It is shown that the properties of coatings significantly depend on the compositions of the electrolytes used and electrolysis regimes.
