Annotation: The article is devoted to establishing a correlation between the structural and mechanical properties of skin tissue using the example of fur seal skins in order to optimise information flows at the design stage of the technological process. Studies of changes in the mechanical characteristics of fur seals were conducted, which occurred as a result of a decrease in the thickness of the skin tissue during the gouging operation. In terms of numerical indicators, the comparison was carried out using the nonparametric Mann–Whitney test. Comparisons of three or more groups by numerical indicators were carried out using the nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test. The correlation between the thickness of the skin tissue and its mechanical characteristics has been studied using two main methods: Spearman’s rank correlation method and Pearson correlation method.
Keywords: semi-finished fur products, topographic plots, statistical analysis, correlation, nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test, Spearman's rank correlation method, Pearson correlation method
